YPP Network Description

The MacArthur Research Network on Youth and Participatory Politics (YPP) formed out of recognition that youth are critical to the future of democracy and that the digital age is introducing technological changes that are impacting how youth develop into informed, engaged, and effective actors.

Youth & Participatory Politics Research Network

The MacArthur Research Network on Youth and Participatory Politics (YPP), funded by the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, brought together an interdisciplinary group of scholars and activists to launch a series of quantitative and qualitative research projects. The network formed out of the recognition that youth are critical to the future of democracy and that the digital age is introducing technological changes that are impacting how youth develop into informed, engaged, and effective actors. Between 2010 and 2017 the YPP Network carried out numerous research projects and launched a series of collaborative action projects connecting research to practice. Below is a sampling of our publications and resources.
