The MacArthur Research Network on Youth and Participatory Politics (YPP) formed out of recognition that youth are critical to the future of democracy and that the digital age is introducing technological changes that are impacting how youth develop into informed, engaged, and effective actors.

Youth Politics: Social Media Use Bridges Race, Ethnic Divides: University of Chicago Survey

The University of Chicago released a new study, "Participatory Politics: New Media and Youth Political Action," which concludes that when it comes to the 15-25 year old age group, there is little digital divide in using social media to participate in politics.
