Matthew D. Luttig is a Postdoctoral Scholar at the University of Chicago. He received his Ph.D. in political science from the University of Minnesota in January, 2016. His research examines the origins of political extremism, the politics of race and ethnicity, and economic inequality in American politics. He has published articles in Public Opinion Quarterly, Political Communication, American Politics Research, and Politics, Groups, and Identities. Luttig is currently working on a series of manuscripts examining the origins and nature of extreme partisanship in American politics.
