Tom Maher is a continuing lecturer at Purdue University. He was a postdoctoral researcher working with Jennifer Earl on the Youth Activism Project (YAP). He completed his PhD in Sociology at Ohio State in 2013. As a postdoc, he focused on interviews with high school and college students about how the internet and social media tools shape and influence their beliefs about, and participation in, civic engagement. He continues to be interested in the intersection of social movements, organizations, and culture.
